Canucks Fans Riot, Pundits Blame Anarchists
Comments (0) With thousands of fans filling the streets outside of where the Canucks play, you would have thought the police might have taken preventive measures in case of a victory or defeat. It wouldn’t be the first time. But that’s not how I really wanted to started this. Following the riots it quickly came out that it was actually anarchists in Canucks Uniforms who were rioting. Yes, all the anarchists I know in the area have Philly Team Jerseys just in case it looks like a riot might start due to a sports team.
Even better though is that it was quickly discovered that the kid who lit one of the police cars on fire was a well to do 17 year old who was a Polo Player. He even had high hopes of making the Canadian Olympic Polo team. Sounds like an anarchist to me. I know the anarchists cause some trouble on the west coast of both Canada and the US, but this jump to blame them for a sports riot is ridiculous. It seems to be an attempt to discredit the movement. But everywhere you go and look at pictures of the riots it’s 99% people in Canucks jerseys.
If it really was some “dangerous element” in the crowd, the crowd would have turned against them. Especially if they weren’t Canucks fans. These people couldn’t have just shown up in the last 5 minutes of the game and suddenly worked their way closer to the arena. Anyone who thinks so hasn’t been to a major concert and tried to push their way up to the front row during the main act. If anything it wouldn’t surprise me if any “anarchists” in the crowd were actually undercover agents looking to blame anarchists in order to crack down on them. Especially when you consider what happened at the G8 Meetings in Toronto earlier in the year.
Of course if I was the press and the police I’d want to blame the Anarchists too. There’s nothing scarier to those in power then Anarchists. While movements can come and go, some of them getting incorporated into the clique in power, the Anarchists stand alone with their beliefs. The reality is we do not need governments, we don’t need to live as slaves. Governments exists only to insure that those on top stay on top. The world has enough resources today that we can all live a happy life. But those that always want more for themselves are the biggest part of the problem. Share and share alike and the whole world can be happy.
