A Little WaWa of Heaven

By , September 9, 2011 1:41 am

Ever have a shitty day? Happens to us all. But really, nothing can make a bad day end good then making a run to WaWa and coming home with this:

Nothing in the world can improve my day like 2 Subs, a toasted Italian Sub, a toasted Roast Beef and Pepper Jack. 2 Slurpees, cause those always put a smile on my face. 2 Throwback Mt Dews cause they are my second favorite Mt Dew since they stopped making Livewire. Finally, Beef Jerky, just because Beef Jerky. It’s stuff like this that improves a bad day immensely and is the one good thing about living where I live.

Actually my last place was much worse, as there were no WaWas nearby and only a 7/11 open all hours. There’s no comparison to a fresh made WaWa toasted sub. God only knows how long those have been sitting on the shelf. The counter guy also gives you weird looks when your getting slurpees at 3 in the morning. Hey, it’s my obsession, not his.

No, there really is no reason for this post other then enjoying some delicious WaWa subs. They should have paid me for this post, really they should have. Oh well, life goes on and I think it’s time for a 3 AM WaWa run…

I hate the Weather

Seriously, I can’t remember it being this bad last year. I take a cold shower and an hour later I’m drenched in sweat. It takes the utmost of motivation to do anything in this heat. Actually the biggest thing I did over the last few days was go get a bunch of Slurpees from the local WaWa. I also got some ice cream, but that’s a fun story. It’s so hot that apparently my freezer, although it’s keeping stuff frozen, will not freeze stuff at the moment. So I enjoyed my Ice Cream Soup when I got around to finally eating it. At the very least though the slurpee joy made up for it.

Plus it doesn’t help when I have incoming links getting me more hits then normal these last few days even without writing. I really do want to try getting up a post a day, but sometimes I just can’t do it. It’s tough to describe, but I’ve never been good working on a solid schedule. I don’t know why, but it just eats away at me the more I do it. Mostly because for example I might write at midnight every night for 3 straight weeks, and then it’ll start slipping later and later into the night. I don’t really know why, it just happens.

I am somewhat sad that it looks like the NFL Lockout is going to end. While I did want the season start, it was fun watching ESPN squirm desperately for anything to cover while there was no Football news. It was a stark contrast to last years Brett Farve-A-Thon.  How Brett Farve can be the top story, every day, when there are so many other sports stories is beyond me. Who are these idiots who are watching ESPN and want every last bit of Farve news? It makes me question other sports fans.

Then there’s the whole August 1st vote for the Islanders, to give them funding for their new arena. I don’t know how much more hosed this vote can end up. For example, a recent poll of registered voters said that they would vote it down 51-36, but 77% of them were in favor of the new Arena. It makes you wonder were they were when Wang offered to pay for the whole Lighthouse Project but Kate Murray stopped that.  People want everything but they never want to foot the bill, it’s amazing to me.

The world is a strange place, and that is for sure.
